Conceived as a monolith modeled using the play of light in space, Dark Matter’s urban materiality and layered spaces seek to redefine tradition with a modern architectural language. The transparency and depth of the double facade enhances the variations of light while creating vistas of openness. Under the outer layer, the emphasis is placed both on the work spaces and community areas. To give an environment suited to the company’s high energy, a contemporary, open concept design highlighted by a clever play of color and light is developed. Reception areas, meeting rooms, departments, services and support activities conjunctures into a comprehensive community space open to sky. Using concrete, steel and wood, a primitive modern experience stretches throughout the headquarters while a much refined palette is employed in the executive area. The themes of openness, flexibility and functional communality take center stage in this work environment.
