Establishing a constant dialogue between landscape and architecture, “J” is characterized by its geometric clarity. It exhibits a strictly controlled aesthetic existing in contrast to the natural setting. “J” responds to this idea in a very direct way by arranging rooms in linear strips, exposing the spaces to views of water features and gardens. The house is designed to be used in a fluid way with continuous connections enabling flexible living. The material palette is limited and restrained– only travertino marble, white plaster, glass and timber are used to blend discretely with its natural surroundings.
